Bargain Fair Volunteer Responsibilities
Our quarterly Bargain Fair is an important fundraiser for OSSC. Money raised from the event returns to our community through scholarships and allocations to non-profit organizations. Your participation in events like the Bargain Fair is critical to the success of the organization and in fundraising to help our community. We need volunteers to help with booth sales two weeks prior to the event, check-in vendors and provide security and clean up on the actual day.
- Booth Sales: Assist the coordinator and ensure vendors complete the appropriate application and agreements. Marking the sold booth spaces off the schematic and answering questions regarding the fair.
- Vendor Check-In (La Mesa Community Center Parking Lot): Man the vendor or volunteer check-in desk. Check-in vendors, ensure they are within their assigned set-up time and direct them to their booths. Remind them to have their cars/trucks out of parking lot at end of assigned timeframe. Give volunteers “volunteer badges” and volunteer job descriptions. Show the Boy Scouts where they are able to set up and remind them to take all trash with them. Remind all vendors to take their trash home with them. Help to keep public out before 9:00 am; Vendors ONLY before 9:00 am!
- Security: Patrol right/left side of parking lot ensuring that vendors move cars/trucks in/out of parking lot at assigned times only. Give warning 15 minutes before end of assigned setup timeframe. It helps to keep public out before 9:00 am; Vendors ONLY before 9:00 am!
- Clean-Up: Stay until last vendor/car has departed. Ensures all vendors have left their booth space as it was originally. Remind vendors to take trash with them when they depart. Vendors may NOT use Dumpster! Stack all barricades/cones in pile.
A GREAT BARGAIN FAIR CAN’T HAPPEN WITOUT YOU!!!
